Dr. Nurez Kassam

Owner, Medical Director

After receiving his Veterinary Medical Degree, Dr. Kassam pursued a one year internship at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He also received further post- graduate training at the New England Veterinary Medical Centre, School of Veterinary Medicine, Tufts University, and in Boston.

Dr. Kassam has been a Veterinarian for over 30 years with vast and extensive experience in all facets of small animal medicine, surgery and dentistry. Over the years he has worked in small and large veterinary hospitals, a university hospital and emergency clinics in Canada and United States of America. Dr. Kassam has attended hundreds of continuing education courses and is licensed in Canada and the United States of America.

Dr. Kassam has owned several veterinary hospitals in Greater Vancouver. Prior to opening Boundary Animal Hospital, Dr. Kassam owned Vetcetera Pet Hospitals located inside Petcetera in Vancouver, Coquitlam and West Vancouver.

Presently Dr. Kassam is the owner and medical director of Boundary Animal Hospital, where Dr. Kassam and his veterinary team provide caring, compassionate pet care in their modern, full service hospital to thousands of clients and their pets.

Erman, AHT

Erman is a foreign graduated veterinarian who completed his education in the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Ankara in 1995 and completed his practicum in Germany. He started his PhD in parasitology the following year and began working on small animals in his own practice. After travelling throughout Europe he decided to come to Canada in 2005 to be a part of the well developed North American veterinary medical system and has been working as a technician ever since. Currently he is taking the steps to get his Canadian veterinary license. He has a beautiful seal point blue cat named Fistik. When he is not giving his undivided attention to the patients of Boundary Animal Hospital he enjoys such past time activities as producing and playing music, swimming, playing tennis, and watching soccer.

Savannah, VOA

Savannah graduated from The Douglas College Veterinary Office and Animal Care Program in 2012 and has been working as a Veterinary Assistant for 2 years. She has applied to the Animal Health Technology Online Program and hopes to be accepted in January 2015.She has been working here at Boundary Animal Hospital since June 2013 and was previously working in Delta where she lives. When not at work Savannah enjoys going to her cabin at Stave Lake in the summer months. She has a seal point ragdoll/siamese cat named Ace, a havenese/yorkie dog named Mia, and a Bichon Frise dog named Tucker, who she rescued from our clinic when his previous owner abandoned him. Savannah is also very passionate about horses and hopes to one day be more involved with them. However, her ultimate goal is to become a Veterinary Technician.

Teresa, VOA

Teresa Vuong has been a part of Boundary Animal Hospital’s Team since 2012. She graduated from the Veterinary Office and Animal Care Program at Douglas College in 2013. She is multilingual and speaks a bit of Cantonese, Teochew, and Vietnamese. Teresa was born and raised in Vancouver and lived in the same house growing up. When she isn’t busy with work, she is out and about with her family and friends. She loves to explore and find new adventures. She also enjoys shopping, eating at new restaurants and hiking, even though she is afraid of heights. She has a cat (grey, black and white Domestic Shorthair) named Muffin, and a dog (golden Chihuahua Poodle) named Pickles. They are both very cute and cuddly and she loves them to bits and pieces. Teresa always has a big heart and soft spot for all animals. Her main goal at work is to not only meet but exceed clients and their pet’s expectations.

Tenille, VOA

Tenille Turner graduated from the Veterinary Health Assistant program at Center For Arts And Technology in Kelowna BC in June 2011, and has been working at Boundary Animal Hospital since October 2011.  She moved to Vancouver from Kelowna where she was born and raised to pursue her career in the animal field.  Tenille’s family plays a huge roll in her life, and would not be where she is today if it wasn’t for their love and support.  When not working, Tenille is caring for her 2 Maine Coons, G.C and Simba, her Shepherd mix, Sophie, supporting her Boyfriend of 8 years as a bmx stunt rider, and planning her future for her baby to be, due in November 2014!
